Use lip liner shade that matches your natural lip color...
...with everything!
I don't mean throw away that great red liner you love to wear with red lipstick; BUT, you don't HAVE to match lip liner with your lipstick. Lip liner helps shape your lip and keep the color from feathering. In general, DRAWING your lip ON is aging.
By using a liner similar to your lip color, you can correct imperfections and give yourself a more polished feminine look. Lip liner is one of those tools you can even do without all together if you have great lips. For instance, my sister has beautifully shaped full lips....she can throw on lipstick without a liner and look fantastic!
In contrast, I have to at least draw a slight cupids bow on my top lip in order for it to even look like it exist! :-)

TC's Tip of the week!
Focus foundation on the T-Zone
If you feel overwhelmed with techniques or spend over three minutes applying foundation....it probably looks too heavy. Here is a great tip to make your foundation look natural without getting that mask look. Apply foundation to the T-zone area of face and only use minimal on cheeks and jawline. I tell my clients to "feather" the foundation outward from the focal point of face. Also, if you aren't using a foundation brush....GET ONE! The way you apply your make-up makes a huge difference! Sponges tend to absorb and waste product.

TC's Tip of the Week March 7th
You are what you sleep!
This weeks tip has nothing to do with make-up application but everything to do with how to look your best.
"Beauty Sleep" is not a myth!
I'm not just telling you to get a good nights rest, but reminding you that your make-up will only look as good as your skin does. Lack of sleep not only is apparent in decission making and overall health, but is very obvious on your face. You need to get sound sleep to experience prime cell renewal. Just like exercise and eating right, you really have to make it happen. We are nocturnal creatures, which means the sleep before dawn is ideal, and don't forget your position! ON YOUR BACK! We don't want those mean creases on our faces!
So, like most of my tips and advise, take baby steps and ease into a new ritual of doing what it takes to get to bed early and catch seven to eight good hours of "z's". You will look and feel much better! Just do it!
This tip is very serious....I mean it. Now, get to bed!
Stay gorgeous!

"TC's Tip of the Week"
Hello ladies! Here's a great tip for anyone who is needs to perk themselves up or brighten their look... something I call an instant eyelift!
Tip: Curl those top lashes and beat that mascara up and out!
Women really underestimate the power of the eyelash curler! Using light shadows on lid and very little liner close to the eyelash bed opens your eye up and makes you look more awake. You can even incorporate a fun color lightly over the lid like peacock green (with caution). Most importantly, a healthy dose of mascara brushed up and out really makes a difference. I suggest no liner on bottom lash bed and minimal mascara if any below. Now, this doesn't apply to everyone of course....you know who you are:)...some unfortunate women have lashes that actually don't need curling or lots of mascara, poor things!
Stay gorgeous!

February 20, 2011 "TC's Tip of the Week"
This weeks tip was inspired by "Dancing for Joan", which is a fundraiser for The Joan Gaeta Lung Cancer Fund being held this Saturday, February 26th. Joan was my mother, she died of lung cancer almost four years ago. She was so beautiful and definitely influenced me with her unique diva like style.
As I was shopping for something to wear for Saturday, not only did I imagine how my jewelry, handbag, and shoes would coordinate, I also thought about what make-up and hairstyle would complete my look.
So, my tip this week is....Don't forget that your make-up and hairstyle is part your outfit! So many times we focus on what we are wearing and don't make time for the appropriate hairstyle or make-up that puts it all together. Think of your face and hair as an accessory......it really makes a difference!
Stay gorgeous!

New "TC Tip of the Week"
I'm modifying my "TC Tip of the Month" to "TC Tip of the Week"....It will officially start on Sunday February, 20, 2011. Yay! O.K....I'm throwing in a bonus tip even though it's not official:)...
This suggestion is odd, but it works great!
When applying your make-up, start with your eye lid first. Put a concealer/eyeshadow base on lid, apply your liner and shadows, then put the rest of your make-up on. Why? Because while applying the shadows/liner often times it drips or flakes down below your lid onto your cheek bone or the under eye area causing you to wipe it clean. If you put on foundation/concealer all over your face first and it drips down, you then have to essentially take off the make-up you just applied before you did your eyes. This process is time consuming and a waste of make-up. But if you change it up and start with the eye lid, you'll save time and money! Of course, another way to avoid this problem is to use a tissue under your eye after applying your foundation, but, I've found that the first suggestion is more practical for people. It's very easy once you get in the habbit! And! It only takes 10 times of a ritual to create a habbit!
Stay gorgeous and everything wonderful!

TC's Tip of the Month
Hello all! Although, half of this month has past, I wanted to start the "TC's Tip of the Month" for the new year.
This month's tip is for women over 40. Unless you have oily skin, PITCH THE POWDER ! I know, I know, it's going to be hard for all of you powder diva's...but, just take a baby step and start weening yourself off. Trust me! A great way to start is by using a translucent powder only in your T-zone area. Powder tends to show fine lines and sometimes settles in unflattering creases. Not using powder will allow your moisturizer to give fine lines, a minimal appearance and a more youthful look. Using powder can also make you look dehydrated.
Of course, there are exceptions to this rule. I'm not suggesting you literally throw away your compacts, brushes and puffs.....just use with caution, if at all....
